About

Women's Shoes

Welcome to Diary of a Shoe Salesman, a ladies shoe guide, along with musings and reflections from the sales floor.

I am the author, a middle-age man, working in the women's shoe department at one of America's oldest but dwindling department stores. Due to the current decline in brick-and-mortar stores and a decrease in in-store shopping, it gets tougher by the day.

For me, Women's shoes was not a primary career choice. Somewhere between the failing economy of 2008 and the need to return close to home because of ill, elderly parents, I found myself surrounded by pumps, wedges, flats, and clearance racks.

Every day is different and so are the customer interactions. Many of the more notable ones are chronicled here. In between, I hope to provide some actual assistance and guidance from the world of ladies shoe sales.

Hope you enjoy and come back often. Be sure and Follow Me on Twitter.
